Terms & Conditions

Last updated: December 2025

Welcome to Matilda’s Books, operated by AKS KaffeeCampusKrems GmbH
These Terms and Conditions apply to all ticket sales, bookings, and use of our website www.matildasbooks.at.
By purchasing a ticket or using our website, you agree to these terms.

1. About Us

Matilda’s Books
Operated by: AKS KaffeeCampusKrems GmbH
Address: Dachsberggasse 5, 3500 Krems an der Donau, Austria
Email: leni@matildasbooks.at
VAT ID: ATU69959789

2. Scope of Application

These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of tickets for workshops, readings, and other events organized by Matilda’s Books.
They also apply to all online purchases and communications made through our website.

3. Ticket Purchase and Contract Formation

  • Tickets can be purchased directly through our website using Stripe or PayPal.

  • By clicking “Buy now,” you make a binding offer to purchase.

  • A contract is concluded once we send you an order confirmation by email.

  • All prices are shown in Euros (€) and include Austrian VAT unless otherwise stated.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order in case of technical errors, mispricing, or suspicion of fraud.

4. Payment

Payment is made securely online through Stripe or PayPal.
Your payment details are processed by the payment provider and are not stored on our servers.

Full payment must be received before your booking is confirmed.

5. Event Attendance

  • Tickets are valid only for the specific event and date stated.

  • Entry to the event is granted upon presentation of your digital or printed ticket and proof of purchase.

  • Please arrive on time — late entry may not be possible once an event has started.

  • We reserve the right to make minor program changes (e.g., speaker substitutions, timing adjustments) if necessary.

6. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds

If we cancel or reschedule an event:

  • You will be offered either a full refund or a replacement date.

  • Refunds are made using the same payment method you used for your purchase.

If you cannot attend:

  • Tickets are generally non-refundable once purchased.

  • However, you may transfer your ticket to another person — simply inform us in advance by email at leni@matildasbooks.at.

  • In special cases (such as illness), we may offer a credit voucher at our discretion.

See also our Refund Policy for full details.

7. Right of Withdrawal (Consumers Only)

Under EU and Austrian consumer law, customers normally have a 14-day withdrawal right for online purchases.

However, this right does not apply to event tickets under §18(1)(10) of the Austrian Distance Selling Act (FAGG), because tickets are for a specific date and time.

This means:

Once your booking is confirmed, it cannot be withdrawn or cancelled under the standard 14-day rule.

If an event is cancelled by us, of course, you will receive a full refund.
See our Withdrawal Policy for more information.

8. Prices

All prices are in Euros (€) and include Austrian VAT (where applicable).
We reserve the right to change prices before a purchase is completed.

9. Liability

We take great care in planning and hosting our events, but we cannot accept liability for:

  • Personal injury or loss unless caused by our negligence

  • Lost, stolen, or damaged personal items

  • Indirect or consequential damages

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your ticket.

10. Use of Our Website

  • You agree not to misuse our website or attempt to interfere with its security.

  • All content on www.matildasbooks.at — including images, text, and designs — is protected by copyright and may not be copied or reused without our permission.

11. Privacy

We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By purchasing a ticket or using our website, you consent to the processing of your data as described there.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and all disputes arising from them are governed by Austrian law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
For consumers, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
The competent court is Landesgericht Krems an der Donau, Austria.

13. Online Dispute Resolution

The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform for consumers:
https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/

We are not obliged and not generally willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
